Objectives: The purpose of the study was to formulate an antimicrobial ointment from the crude extract of camachile (Pithecellobium dulce) leaves. Experimental method was applied for this study.

Method: The fresh camachile leaves underwent extraction using 80% ethanol as solvent. The extract was evaporated to dryness to produce crude extract. From the crude extract. From the crude extract, physical, FTIR-ATP spectroscopy, and Microbiological test (Agar-well diffusion) were performed. The researchers used Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, and Candida albicans as test organism. The organism was tested in different oncentration (100mg/ml, 75mg/ml, 50mg/ml, 25mg/ml).

Conclusion: The result indicated that the crude extract of Camachile (Pithecellobium dulce) had a syrupy, dark brown colored with the pH of 4.84 which is acidic Camachile crude extract was soluble in NSS, distilled water, methanol, and petroleum ether but insoluble in carbon tetrachloride and chloroform. The concentration of 75mg/ml showed a greatest inhibitory activity which is used in the formulation of antimicrobial ointment. The formulated antimicrobial ointment was also subjected to microbiological test (Agar-well diffusion) and was compared to a commercially available ointment.
